Thank you for the lovely submission Joan!

At around 7:20 in the video she transitioned to the walk and her horse not only stretched down but also extended his head out. I noticed it makes consistent contact hard to achieve because she lengthened her reins to accommodate his stretch, but as soon as he lifted his head her reins were too long. My horse does this too! How do you avoid the trap of constantly lengthening and shortening your reins throughout a ride? Thank you!

I have intentionally left out the word "dressage" because many people have a negative association with the prevalent "crank and spank" approach or that it is a sport for only those who are afraid to jump.

Dressage as it is meant to be is an understanding of how to best optimize a horse's movement and ability to carry a rider, surely a benefit for any horse, any discipline. It is also important in maintaining your horse's safety, soundness and sanity.
