Romy: 3 Year Old Starting Under Saddle

Hello this is Will Faerber from Art2Ride and today I wanted to introduce you to Romy. She started training with us about 4 weeks ago and she is half Hanoverian. This horse is owned by one of our students who we started with lunging about a year ago and she is back with us again to begin working under saddle. We began with stretching on the lunge just as we have started our other horses that you have seen in our previous videos such as Miracle. After starting correctly in the lunge first, look how beautifully she is working over her back in the trot.

When we first started with this horse, she had a tendency to curl her neck backwards, but she has gotten used to the weight and has gotten a lot happier. Take the time to work these …

Dressage as it is meant to be is an understanding of how to best optimize a horse's movement and ability to carry a rider, surely a benefit for any horse, any discipline. It is also important in maintaining your horse's safety, soundness and sanity.
